Technology at Abinger Common School

When it comes to modern technology, the school has spent a lot of time and money on resources. Each classroom has an interactive whiteboard, which is used by the teachers and the children. Apart from class based computers we also have a bank of laptops, which are available for use at all times. In addition to this, children have the opportunity to explore various computers, use a

computer microscope and learn how to program a variety of floor robots.

As the children are given many opportunities to explore varous forms of ICT in the Robin and Owl Classes they have therefore already acquired many skills by the time they reach the Kingfisher Class. The aim of the ICT co-ordinator (Mrs Gunn), therefore, is to ensure that they can use these skills in all areas of the curriculum.
