Founded in 1861, the school is located in the historic village of Abinger Common which lies in the heart of the Surrey Hills.
It is in a beautiful location. Abinger Common is a very friendly and caring school and over many years it has retained
its ethos and its own special charm. The commitment and dedication of the staff really shines through and Mrs Weaver
has built a very supportive environment. It is a " big team effort" and everyone shares a passion for the success of the school.
Mrs Weaver says: ''My aim, with the help of my team, has been to create a very personalised service for the children and their families. I firmly believe this approach provides the best start for any child. Children can sometimes get lost in a larger school and often a more regimented style of schooling doesn't always provide the nurturing environment that I believe you need at this crucial age. I believe that you can teach someone to teach, but people with an inherent and intuitive understanding of children, make the best teachers. And this is what I have found in everyone here at Abinger Common First School. As a team we have a job to do, but at this school it goes beyond being just a job. We all want the best for the children and are focussed entirely on doing just this. The school's ethos is that of an 'Extended Family'. Each child is regarded and treated as an individual and our open door policy for Parents means we work together on behalf of the children.''
WE WELCOME YOU TO VISIT OUR FRIENDLY VILLAGE SCHOOL
